About Kassia:
Kassia Russell is a classically-trained pianist as well as a bass guitarist and singer. With her own formal musical training beginning at age 7, she draws upon extensive study and performance experience, which include piano competitions, solo classical performances, and a commercial cover band. Kassia has been instructing piano for more than four years. She specializes in teaching early beginners (ages 3 to 10) and young learners, using a gentle and engaging approach that combines rudimentary, easy-to-learn theory and structure with actual song learning and playing. The results are enthusiastic students who have fun and look forward to each lesson.
In addition to teaching, Kassia is currently a junior at the University of New Hampshire, where she double-majors in Equine Science and Business Management. She also works part-time as an assistant barn manager at a local boarding stable. Along with her two sisters, she is part of a successful local band called Kalisa that performs a mix of Pop, Rock, R&B, Hip-Hop, Country, and Jazz. In her spare time, Kassia can be found training and riding her two Appendix Quarterhorses, Amigo and Cammie.
